Stress and Anger Management

If anyone knows any one who is interested in Stress and Anger Management and how to control these feelings, please let Debbie know in the ARC, as I am looking to put on a staster session some time in late August - it will be a 2 week sessionwith the view to put on a fuller course at a later date. ESOL provision during summer

English Language Training Services offer free English language classes to any non-native speakers of English during July and August. Details below.
If you are in contact with any overseas visitor, refugee, staff member, student or family of such a non-native speaker who would appreciate free language teaching, please let them know about this.
Free classes run from 3rd July to 27th July and 6th August to 26th August
Classes run from 1.30 p.m. (13:30) to about 1530 from Monday to Friday
ALL non-native speakers of English at ALL levels are welcome.
You do NOT need to be part of the university.
You may join the class at any time, for any period of time.
There is no need to pre-book or enrol.
The initial meeting is in Room 248, Keir Hardie Building. All classes are in the Keir Hardie Building, opposite the library.

For insurance reasons, we are not able to accept anyone under 16. Sorry.

Sustainability Training

Come along to our half day training session, and learn all there is to know about sustainability, recycling and keeping green!! Tuesday 31st July from 9:30 - 12:00 - at the ARC, 45 Broughton Avenue - tel 578632 - suitable for all groups and organisations.

Summer IT Taster Provision

Come to our Summer Taster IT Class every Monday and Tuesday from 1230 - 3 pm starting the 16th July 07 - for 7 weeks. Learn all the basics, on how to word process, write a business letter, prepare a CV and much much more. For further details contact Debbie Jones 578632.

Summer Carnival

It won’t be long before a carnival will be in most people’s minds and everyone will be wanting to know what is happening about it. So I thought I would try to organise a meeting with all the organisations and groups in our area so we can talk about what each group could offer and possibly contribute to the carnival day.

In this area alone we have a number of organisations and groups who provide a service or create activities all through the year. Just by looking at a few of them we already have the opportunity to create a day full of variety and fun.

The date for the Carnival will be September 1st, and the timing of the event will be discussed at the meeting.

The first Carnival meeting will be at the Action Resource Centre on the 15th June.
2pm till 3:30pm.

We would like at least one person from each organisation or group to attend this first meeting.
